June 20, 2010- Father's Day

This was a wonderful day, A Happy Father's Day indeed. It all started with the opportunity I had to speak in church. Dan, Mel
Katie, Sharon & Kyle
came too. Then the girls
wanted to stay and so I went to Primary with them. They were both really good, it was a little different than their primary cause ours is really small, maybe a dozen kids in all. They got to make some gifts for Father's Day. Katie showed again how big of a heart she has. She gave her presents to Grandpa cause he should get some too. What a sweetheart she is.
Well, after church we got home and

had some lunch and then played outside with the dogs, of course. Grandpa took Katie into the garden and was showing her the plants and stuff. Sharon was inside with me and we played some pretend games and had some fun. She is such a fun little girl and so loving. Then I noticed through the window that Katie was climbing the grape arbor and I thought picture time. So, Sharon and I got the camera and headed outside. Then the pictures started, they had fun climbing up and Grandpa was so nice to help and hold them up so I could take the picture. Then the dogs started playing together too and we had a good laugh. Then it was time for a walk to the park. Katie and Sharon had to take turns walking each dog and then we had lots of fun playing at the park. The girls made sand castles and Katie taught Ben-Zee to go down the slide. Had to stick to the little slide because Ben-Zee almost flew out going around the curve on the bigger slide. Then we took a break and the girls found some soft pillows on the doggies. Rascal didn't mind but Ben-Zee would only allow it for just a moment. It was cute. Katie got a BIG KISS from Rascal!! He sure does love that girl.

Well, then I decided after about an hour and a half that we should head back because dinner would be ready soon and Dan, Mel & Kyle would be coming over soon. We timed it just right. Dinner was sooooo good. Had some great bar-be-cue chicken, other meat (can't remember the name) which tasted so good. Doreen did the marinating of the chicken over night, boy was it great, and so was the salads and bread and other stuff. It was so good to have Kyle awake and he was so

happy. He is always happy and smiling, such a sweet boy. He looked so handsome in his suit I had to get some pics. He has the cutest laugh too!!! Anyway, we had a great time visiting and then Dan took the girls out on the ATV and Wade went too. Mel even got on and took the girls in her dress, gotta love her!!!

Anyways, gotta say that I just love my dad and so happy that I still have him in my life. He does

so much for me and supports me in
what I do and is there during the hard times. So grateful for him and love him so. I'm also grateful for the other father figures in my life and for Grandpa's that have taught me so much and have set such great examples for me. Most of all I'm grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who loves me in spite of my weaknesses and who blesses me each day with so many things.

Oh, I just have to say too that I was so proud of Sharon. She was scared to go down the pole so I helped her by letting her stand on my good shoulder (which Sharon is so good about asking to make sure that she doesn't hurt my bad shoulder. "Is this the owie shoulder, she always asks". She is so considerate and caring when it comes to things like that. Anyway, she would step onto my "good shoulder" to get to the part of the pole to slide down and after about 5-6 times she was able to do it by herself. Just working with her to learn to grab the pole with her feet and then move over, she did so well and is such a quick learner. Katie is a great big sister too, helping Sharon to take Ben-Zee down the slide.
Just love these girls so much and is so fun to hang out with them. Can't wait to do it again!!!
Anyways it was really a fun, super, fabulous day!!!!
